Football game postpones Springfield's big parade

SPRINGFIELD - For the first time in its 55-year history, the annual Springfield Christmas Parade will not be held on the first Saturday of December.

Saturday's Civil War football game between Oregon and Oregon State forced parade organizers to reschedule the parade for next Saturday, Dec. 8.

The parade begins at 2 p.m. at the intersection of Olympic and 21st streets. It proceeds along Mohawk Boulevard to the intersection of Main and 14th streets before continuing along Main Street and ending at the corner of Pioneer Parkway and B Street.

Arc's Winter Festival to feature St. Nick

The Arc of Lane County is presenting its first-ever Winter Festival on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Lane County fairgrounds.
