Only the manner of victory was in question.

Was the Oregon women's basketball team going to grind out another win, like it did last season at Long Beach State? Or would the Ducks finally find some rhythm and put the 49ers away?

The answer came with a resounding run in the second half, as Oregon posted a 66-45 nonleague win before 2,188 in McArthur Court on Thursday. But as encouraging as the second half was, it made the first 20 minutes all the more frustrating for the Ducks.

Oregon shot 50 percent in the second half, 32 in the first. The Ducks had 11 turnovers at halftime, and five after. They scored 41 second-half points, their highest total for one half since they had 42 at UCLA on Feb. 1.

It was the fifth straight game in which Oregon (4-2) had a higher scoring output after halftime than before.

"We need to start putting the second half into the first half," UO guard Micaela Cocks said, "and then continuing that so we can have 41 points in the first half and in the second half."
