For those of us who read railroad books as they are published, the last few years have been very kind. There has been a wealth of good railroad books on several subjects. Rarely, however, does a book come along that is a must-have for every railroad library. The Encyclopedia of North American Railroads is such a book.
The book is extremely long (1,312 pages), but wouldn't be nearly as valuable in a shortened version. The length is necessary for the breadth of subjects that the book covers....
