Article Excerpt Early in 2006, someone brought a video tape to a Circuit City store in Mount Laurel, N.J., and asked to have it copied to DVD. While making the copy, an employee was alarmed by the content of tape: 10 men shooting guns, shouting "God is great" in Arabic, and calling for jihad.
Circuit City notified the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), prompting a 16-month investigation that uncovered the terror group's plot to attack the Fort Dix Army Base in New Jersey. In May 2007, their plan was foiled and six of the men were arrested. No one was harmed.
While unable to speak about the case specifically, Special Agent Jerri Williams, media representative for the Philadelphia, Pa., division of the FBI says, "The information provided by the Circuit City employee allowed us to take a further look at these individuals and initiate that investigation. It was fantastic that he saw it and came forward."
It's something the FBI strongly encourages every photo lab manager to do if they see or hear something suspicious.
