Whitney Picketing of Laurel was a founding consultant and one of a half-dozen corporate-direct independent sales consultants for Southern Living at HOME. Within seven years, she built a national sales force of 2,200 without having previous sales or industry experience.

Then two years ago, her business plateaued because, as she succinctly puts it, "one of the enemies of progress loomed about--contentment."

"Simply because I'm successful doesn't mean my sales team is reaching its potential," admitted Picketing. "So about 18 months ago, I made the commitment to begin one-on-one mentoring and small group coaching with about 50 women on my sales team of roughly 2,500.
