The decision to become a lawyer was a long and arduous one for Katie Hester.

For 10 years, she had enjoyed her time as the state's fiscal analyst at the Mississippi Research & Development Center. "I decided to go to law school for what most people would consider the wrong reason--to be able to debate important local and state issues with confidence," she admitted with a chuckle. "My boss wanted me to get a master's in business and simply apply to Millsaps (College) to be on the debate team as a way to strengthen my arguing skills."
