In the early 1960s, Kim Davis's mother found herself divorced and without a college degree. Realizing that education was key to providing success as a single mother of two daughters, she returned to college to complete the remaining credits needed for an undergraduate degree, and then also a master's degree and a Ph.D. in medieval history--in less than four years!
