Gulfport Mayor Brent Warr met Lisa Bradley in 2003, when he interviewed and hired her for the position of executive director of the Gulfport Chamber of Commerce.

After Hurricane Katrina, Warr was so impressed with Bradley's leadership abilities that he hired her to help the devastated coastal city in its recovery efforts as executive director of the Gulfport Main Street Association.
