For more than 70 years, doctors and nurses at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Eugene have been intimately involved in the births, deaths and every other kind of drama that takes place daily within the walls of a busy hospital.

That's a lot of stories, most of which will be lost when PeaceHealth opens a new hospital, Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend, next August. On Monday and Tuesday, with the help of professional oral historians, hospital officials began capturing some of those stories for posterity before the old hospital closes.
