CORVALLIS - As the Oregon State offense ran through plays in Reser Stadium on Tuesday afternoon, there was no sign of No. 26.
Instead, Yvenson Bernard was in the training room, trying to rehabilitate a sore left shoulder that might keep him from playing Saturday when the Beavers meet No. 13 USC at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
"I just want to go day by day and see what happens," Bernard said. "I didn't break anything, so that's a blessing."
The official diagnosis after examination by doctors and an MRI was a sprained shoulder, suffered on a first-half carry against Stanford on Saturday. Bernard stayed in for one play after that, and scored a touchdown, but said by the time he reached the OSU bench he began to feel the pain in the shoulder.
On a scale of one through five, he said it was a five "after it happened, and I got to the locker room."
By Tuesday, he put the pain level on that scale at a two, and said "it...
