Several weeks ago, the Bureau of Land Management released a draft plan analyzing four alternatives for the future management of 2.5 million acres of public lands in Western Oregon. I am very proud of the fact that this planning effort is based on the most detailed and comprehensive analysis ever completed on BLM-managed lands in Western Oregon. The analysis is supported by the latest biological studies, updated resource data and the newest computer modeling tools.
