With so many polls to watch, one list of the top 25 teams in college football this week was of particular interest for the Ducks on Sunday.

There in parentheses after "Oregon" in the USA Today coaches poll, which factors into the Bowl Championship Series standings and in which the Ducks are fourth this week, is the numeral "1." One of the 60 coaches who participate in the poll - a pool that includes six men who have faced the Ducks this season - considers them the best team in the country.

It wasn't, Mike Bellotti said Sunday, the team's own coach, who is also a voter in the poll. But Oregon's ascension to those heights, to 7-1 overall and 4-1 in the Pac-10 after Saturday's 24-17 win over USC in Autzen Stadium, also wasn't totally unexpected, he said.

"Probably in a perfect world, I think you always anticipate that," Bellotti said....
