Several years ago, Entergy Mississippi leaders were contemplating what to do about Electric 308, an historic downtown Jackson landmark that served as home to 60 of the utility company's employees. The 1920s building sorely needed a 21st-century facelift, but the renovation price tag was $16 million.

Because Entergy made a commitment to improving the quality of life in the communities it serves, the utility company contracted with developer Ted Duckworth to renovate the 10-story building.
