Sweet Georgia Brown has new leadership

Jake Abraham and Connie Gibson, both former staff members of Seldom Blues, have reunited at Sweet Georgia Brown with the goal of returning the restaurant to the prominent position it held several years ago.

Sweet Georgia Brown announced last week that Abraham is its new executive chef. Abraham's first day at Sweet Georgia Brown was Sept. 4.

Abraham, 32, has worked at the Golden Mushroom and Duet - two restaurants that are now closed - and was executive chef for two years at Seldom Blues.

Abraham left Seldom Blues in January to become executive chef of City Cellar/Blue Martini in Birmingham until that restaurant closed this spring. Over the summer, Abraham worked as a personal chef for Rasheed Wallace of the Detroit Pistons.
