STARS OF THE GAME
Oregon - Dennis Dixon, senior quarterback, San Leandro, Calif. Dixon threw his first two interceptions of the season, breaking a string of 135 straight passes without a pick, but he set career marks for completions (31) and attempts (44) while surpassing 300 yards (306) for the second straight week. Dixon continued his streak of recording a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown in each game this season, and, with Oregon trailing by the final margin, drove the Ducks from the UO 23 to the Cal 5 before Oregon's final turnover inside the 1.
California - DeSean Jackson, junior wide receiver, Los Angeles. Jackson caught 11 passes for 161 yards and two touchdowns on receptions of 31 and 25 yards. The receptions and yards were career bests. He has 125 career receptions, moving him into Cal's all-time top 10.
KEY STATS
4 - Oregon turnovers. The Bears had none, and therein the game was decided. Dixon's first interception set up the winning touchdown; his second, on a deflected pass, stopped an Oregon drive inside the Cal 17, and the last, Cameron Colvin's fumble into the end zone, ended Oregon's chance to force overtime.
