Medica Foundation 2007 First Cycle Funding Puts Major Focus on Behavioral Health, Chronic Disease Management with Grants Totaling $400,000.

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Medica Foundation in it first cycle of funding for 2007 made grants totaling $250,000 for eight projects that address behavioral health issues. An additional $150,000 in funding was granted for five projects that address chronic disease management.

Addressing behavioral health and chronic diseases conditions are important to the Medica Foundation because of their devastating impact and the role they play in a person's overall health. "The Medica Foundation is committed to funding projects that have the potential to make a significant improvement in the overall health of Minnesota's population," said Rob Longendyke, executive director. "These projects do that by addressing conditions that are distressing and often can lead to other types of diseases and complications."
