3.2.1 Global Measure of Performance

Measuring the global performance of a MIMO system with several substreams is tricky as there is an inherent tradeoff among the performance of the different substreams. Different applications may require a different balance on the performance of the substreams (although one may also argue that minimizing the BER averaged over the substreams is the best criterion).
