SALEM - Oregonians are overwhelmingly choosing to keep their kicker checks, rather than turn the money over to the State School Fund.

The size of those rebate checks will be determined Friday when state economists release the final revenue figures for the 2005-07 biennium, which ended June 30. They'd previously estimated that the median check would be $285 when they hit taxpayers' mailboxes before the holidays.

When Oregonians filed their taxes last spring, they had the option of checking off a box to donate their upcoming kicker checks to the State School Fund. But so far, that hasn't proven a popular choice.
