OVER 600 TELECOMMUNICATIONS professionals met at GSM 3G West Africa in Dakar, Senegal from 19-20 June to discuss strategies to maximise growth in the West Africa's telecommunications market. The event, now in its fourth year and growing stronger every year, included an extensive exhibition representing all the new technologies and solutions in the market, as well as a high-level conference. The mood was definitely upbeat among the operators, regulators, vendors and investors present - with higher growth rates than the continent's average, and increasing interest from investors, business has never been so good in the region.
