TWO THEMES EMERGED as central issues at the Namibia Investment Roundtable in London on 6 June, at which the keynote address was delivered by President Pohamba himself. The first was reiteration of the well-known national slogan, "A gem worth investing in", a reference to the diamond industry which was picked up by Trade & Industry Ministry Permanent Secretary Andrew Ndishishi.

The second was "Small enough for your contribution to make a difference," a point about inwards investment that was made by the MD of Rossing Uranium Mr Mike Leech. A member of the Rio Tinto Group his company is now making a major contribution to Namibia's export earnings - and the world's energy supply, too.
