Language and Woman's Place: Text and Commentaries (hereafter LWP:TC) is a revised and expanded re-release of Robin Lakoffs ground-breaking work Language and Woman's Place, (hereafter LWP) originally published in 1973 as an article in Language in Society, and then as a book in 1975. The continuing relevance and centrality of L WP to the study of communication, language, and gender inspired the LWP:TC project, along with editor Mary Bucholtz's discovery that the original text had recently gone out of print.
