Article Excerpt Before the sun rises on the second Tuesday in May and October, downtown Canton merchants will open their doors to lines of waiting customers.
Twice a year, those red-letter days represent very special shopping bonanzas for bargain-hunters and money-making opportunities for merchants. For those two days, normal business routines "go out of the window," joked a local merchant.
Consistently listed among the Top 100 Events in North America by the American Bus Association (ABA), nearly 100,000 folks from a 700-mile radius make the pilgrimage to the semi-annual Canton Flea Market Arts & Crafts Show, held on the front lawn of Canton's Madison County Courthouse, made famous in the movie, "A Time to Kill," based on the John Grisham bestseller.
