Teck Cominco Ltd. has offered $3.9 billion in cash and stock for the Canadian-based copper miner Aur Resources Inc., whose board is recommending the deal to its shareholders.

Aur Resources shares jumped more than 30 percent on the Toronto stock exchange after the Tuesday July 3, 2007 announcement.
