Get Elgin focused on biggest issue of time

Global climate change differs from other political disputes because it is based in science. Its effects are measurable in ways that the "pros" and "cons" of amnesty for illegal immigrants is not.

Ignoring it won't make it go away. While there may be flaws in the Kyoto Protocol, it is the closest the world has to fight global warming to date - divvying up the burden of reducing greenhouse gases among the wealthiest industrialized nations.

America and Australia are the only holdouts, and they'll ratify if we do.
