Shares of Liz Claiborne Inc. rose Thursday 2007-06-28, after a Credit Suisse analyst said there were major changes ahead for the women's apparel retailer and upgraded the company's stock.

That upgrade came a day after news that founder Liz Claiborne died of cancer at 78. Claiborne ceased being involved in day-to-day operations in 1989.

Credit Suisse analyst Omar Saad said he believes the company will announce "a bold new strategic direction" on July 11.
