Australian unemployment is at a 32 year low. In February 2007, the index of leading economic indicators had an annualized growth rate of 5.7 percent. The Chief Economist of the Westpac-Melbourne Institute, the organization that compiles the index, said, "The Index continues to point to an acceleration in economic growth over the next 39 months."
