The Society receives some 450 research proposals every year. The topics range from basic questions (e.g., how myelin-making cells read signals that cause them to produce myelin), to clinical trials of promising treatments. Our funded research falls into these categories: Therapy of MS; Care, Management, Rehabilitation, and Psychosocial Issues; Immunology; Nerve Tissue Repair and Myelin Biology; Genetics; Infectious Triggers; Neuropathology/ Neurophysiology; Health-Care Delivery and Policy; and Resource Banks.
