Each year seems busier than the last for the ARRT and 2003 was no exception. The following is a summary of key activities and statistics.

Registrants

The ARRT ended 2003 with approximately 236 000 registrants. These R.T.s hold more than 330 000 certificates. Most R.T.s are registered in a single category, with radiography being the most frequently held category. In fact, about 60% of all registrants are R.T.(R).

Certification and Licensing Programs

By the end of 2003, the ARRT had 13 operational certification programs plus 2 examination programs used solely for state licensing. Programs include radiography, nuclear medicine technology, radiation therapy, cardiovascular-interventional technology, cardiac-interventional technology, vascular-interventional technology, mammography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance, quality management, sonography, vascular sonography, bone densitometry, limited scope of practice in radiography and bone densitometry equipment operator.
