Wall Street woke up this Thursday morning with news of the much expected gasoline price increase. Keeping the trend that has been set forth recently, the news had a bitter after-taste with a higher than anticipated surge in oil price for the last six month. This will automatically have a catalyst effect on the already pressuring inflation rate, but could still be limited to the wholesale level as inflation outside the energy sector has remained pretty much stable. After yesterday's report of an increased consumers' spending made a difference in the bear dominated market, the slight fall in food price may post an encouraging sign to US buyers.
