Frank Underbrink wasn't just a beloved teacher who spent more than 30 years shaping young minds at Libertyville and Vernon Hills high schools.

He was a world traveler who visited more than 70 countries and loved regaling students, co-workers and friends with tales of overseas adventures.

Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello, a Libertyville High graduate and longtime friend of Underbrink, called him "Indiana Jones with more conscience, soul and heart."

It's absolutely fitting, then, that the Vernon Hills High School Class of 2007 chose to memorialize Underbrink, who died in February after a short battle with cancer, with a mural depicting...
