The Mississippi Museum of Art will reopen in a brand new home Saturday, June 9.

After undergoing a $14-million renovation, the Mississippi Arts Pavilion will house the century-old museum--the state's largest--that has been located in downtown Jackson since the late 1970s.

Even though the move is small geographically, amounting to no more than a city block, it propels the museum light years ahead in terms of capabilities, technology and the overall philosophy of what an art museum means to a community.
