The American Psychotherapy Association has joined with other mental health organizations to request that the FDA not renew a controversial black box warning label requirement for antidepressants.

The APA, along with 14 other national health groups, signed a letter in December to the FDA emphasizing that the warning labels cause people who need selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) to be afraid to take them.
