Ovshinsky gets extension on options

On Tuesday, Rochester Hills-based Energy Conversion Devices Inc., filed an 8-K report with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission announcing that the board of directors, "in honor of the late Dr. Iris M. Ovshinsky's contributions to the growth and success of the company,'' had voted to honor her.

Iris, the company co-founder, died Aug. 16.

The honor? To extend the deadline for her husband, Stan Ovshinsky, to exercise options for 155,465 shares of company stock that were to expire this summer.
