Little-known fact: "I was a dog walker. Before the ("American Idol") show, I was going to school to become a dog trainer. I would still like to become certified. I'll always be a dog lover."

The town of St. Charles made it to prime-time television this year when one of its own, Leslie Hunt, emerged on "American Idol" for the show's sixth season, which just ended May 23.

Hunt was one of the top 20 contestants on the show before being voted off on March 1. But many former contestants who didn't win went on to have successful careers, including Josh Gracin; Clay Aiken; Jennifer Hudson, who went on to win an Academy Award for "Dreamgirls;" and Chris Daughtry who released a No. 1 CD. So Hunt knows that now the world is her oyster.
