Is it me, or does the national fuel economy/global warming debate seem like deja vu all over again? The same old issues, the same old arguments - the same old same old.

Part of the problem is the political process. Normally, Congress, which includes 435 representatives and 100 senators, does an OK job of sorting through special interests and coming up with legislation that is more or less in the public interest, no matter which party is in the majority.
