Pessimists keep predicting that China's passenger-vehicle market growth will slow, but that didn't happen in 2006. Sales grew by 35.1 percent in 2006 to 4.2 million units, faster than 2005's 26.9 percent growth rate, according to Automotive Resources Asia, a consulting unit of J.D. Power and Associates based in Shanghai.
