It's the normal stuff for a 6-year-old, like Lily Snyder's loose tooth, that makes life remarkable these days for her mother.

Now the first-grader can't wait for the Tooth Fairy to come, said Snyder's mom, Margot Thornton.

"She's really excited," Thornton said.

But such simple moments, milestones to families, had been out of reach for Thornton until eight months ago. That's when a band of anonymous vigilantes rescued Lily from a hut deep in the Costa Rican jungle, where she lived with her father and half-brother after they allegedly kidnapped her nearly two years earlier.
