There was no trash talk, no bulletin-board material and certainly no bold predictions out of Junction City and Marist this week.

As the Sky-Em League rivals prepared to meet in a OSAA Class 3A football semifinal at 5 p.m. today at Cottage Grove High School, both the unranked Tigers and top-ranked Spartans spoke with great respect about their opponent.

"To be honest, this is one of the better Marist teams we've seen in 16 years, and maybe their best team," Junction City coach Mark Henderson said. "You look on the field and on tape and I think they have about eight college football players on the...
