Mary Bridenstine
COTTAGE GROVE - A memorial service will be held Dec. 1 for Mary Frances Bridenstine of Cottage Grove, who died Nov. 25 of age-related causes. She was 85.
Briden- stine was born Jan. 26, 1918, in Dorena to Hugh and Anna Bales Doolittle. She married Olaf Bridenstine in Vancouver, Wash., on June 22, 1940. He died Oct. 31, 1989.
She was a member of the last graduating class from Dorena High School.
She worked as a housekeeping supervisor at Cottage Grove High School.
She served as a volunteer with the SMART reading program. She enjoyed gardening, music, games and puzzles and traveling in the United States and aboard. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include two daughters, Frances Banton of Lakeview and Katie Millar of Everett, Wash.; a son, Samuel of North Bend; a sister, Naomi Horner of Cottage Grove; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Monday at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove. Monday's service will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
Kenneth Wiederholt
The funeral Mass will be held Dec. 3 for Kenneth Joseph "Kenny" Wiederholt of Prineville, formerly of Eugene, who died Nov. 25 of age-related causes. He was 81.
Wiederholt was born Aug. 6, 1922, in Lisbon, N.D., to Bernard and Catherine Piszek Wiederholt. He married Ruth Poelzer. She died June 11, 1969. He married Kathleen McAdam in Eugene on Oct. 14, 1972.
He lived in Lisbon until 1938, when he moved to Eugene. He settled in Prineville in 1999.
He was a veteran of World War II. He worked as a local truck driver and was a member of a teamsters' union.
He also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Beverly Stark of Eugene; two sons, Frank of Prineville and David of Albuquerque, N.M.; and eight grandchildren. A grandson, Steven Wiederholt, died in 1992.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Poole-Larsen Funeral...
