Many students complete school projects simply in hopes of getting a good grade.

But students at Kennedy Junior High in Lisle may have a different outlook on their schoolwork after hearing about a project that changed history.

Hunter Scott, a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, spoke to students at Kennedy this week about the research he did when he was 11 that exonerated the captain of the USS Indianapolis, which was sunk in 1945.
