It was a mellow autumn day at the office, and I was having a pleasant conversation with a mom who was visiting with her healthy infant daughter. Since influenza season was rapidly approaching, I put in a plug for the flu shot. The mother sat back in her chair, folded her arms across her chest and looked at me sternly. "I don't want my daughter to have that," she said. "My family doesn't get the flu."
