It's one of the least invasive, most precise and risk-free medical tests you can have. Yet the thought of climbing onto a table, being rolled into a tube and lying absolutely motionless for 15 to 45 minutes while listening to a rhythmic jack hammer-like pounding and knocking has been known to send sane, rational people into a state of crazed hysteria. Magnetic resonance imaging, commonly known as MRI, does that to people sometimes.
