Following a year of changes, Chicago Executive Airport in Wheeling is moving forward as plans for the airport's growth begin to take shape.

Following a name change from Palwaukee Municipal Airport, the airport, which is owned by the city of Prospect Heights and the village of Wheeling, could see its biggest addition yet - a fire department.

Wheeling Village Manager Mark Rooney said the village is looking to relocate both of its fire stations, and an ideal location for at least one of them would be at the airport.

Rooney said the station could go somewhere on the north end of the airport, but said he will know more in a couple of months. Any such addition would be subject to FAA approval, Rooney said.
