Naoma Parr is a member of the Eugene police SWAT team but she doesn't carry a gun.

As a tactical dispatcher, the tools of her trade are a police radio, a cell phone and a pen.

From inside the team's big blue command bus, nicknamed "Barney," she helps the SWAT commander coordinate team movements by handling radio communications, relaying information to officers and supervisors, calling in additional help and recording everything the team does on giant pads of paper mounted outside the bus.

Each time the SWAT team gets called out, Parr's pager beeps. She's on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and she attends every training session.
