Feds call into question $1.5m in workforce partnership spending: auditors find no fraud or mismanagement, chief of job training agency says.

The San Diego Workforce Partnership, a regional job training agency that gets practically all its funding from the federal government, is on the hook for $1.5 million in spending that was questioned in an extensive federal audit.

The two-year audit by the Office of Inspector General, which covered the period from July 2002 to June 2004, found SDWP paid out $1.3 million for rent on space it wasn't using in its new building, money the OIG determined was not "allowable."
