Vali Short
COTTAGE GROVE - Vali L. Short of Cottage Grove died March 4 of lung cancer at age 73.
She was born Jan. 29, 1934, in Rincon, N.M., to Jesse and Ina Hisaw Adams.
Short worked as a medical office assistant in Creswell and Drain. She graduated from high school in Drain.
Survivors include four sons, Andy Mathews of Springfield, Mitch Mathews and Patrick Short, both of San Francisco, and Michael Short of West Linn; a brother, Larry Adams of Drain; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
An informal service and burial were March 7 in Drain. Arrangements by Autumn Funerals & Cremation in Tigard.
Alanna Bingham
Alanna L. Bingham of Eugene, formerly of Veneta, died March 26 of Alzheimer's disease at age 60. A private family service was held.
She was born Sept. 9, 1946, in Eugene to John and Myrtle Freeman Smigley.
Bingham worked in the stereo business for many years, including work at Mac's Hi Fi and Toad Hall Hi Fi. She was a co-founder and co-owner of Bradford's Home Entertainment, and later was a certified public accountant.
She held a bachelor's degree from the University of Oregon school of business.
Survivors include her mother; a daughter, Tessa Watson of Portland; a son, Todd Lichtenwalter of Vietnam; three sisters, Patricia Garcia...
