Teacher shouldn't be fired

Teacher Kris Helpinstine fired (Register-Guard, March 20)?

Are there not two points of view on almost every subject? It is a sad, sad day when a teacher can't stimulate a young - or old - mind to think about both sides of a subject. We have absolutely too much puppet, robot, do-what-I-say mentality going on today in our schools.

The teacher involved has a master's degree in science from Oregon State University. He should be applauded for encouraging students to arrive at decisions on their own. Let's face it, evolution is just a theory and not a proven fact...
