This week's story line in the comic strip "Doonesbury" prompts the question: Is that art imitating life or art skewing to journalism?

"Doonesbury" creator Garry Trudeau introduced a character on Monday, a female soldier seeking counseling for sexual trauma.

The comic strip caught the attention of family and friends of Army soldier Suzanne Swift, the former Eugene resident who accused her supervising sergeants of sexual harassment and coercion.

Swift was court-martialed after going AWOL to avoid a second deployment in Iraq.

They looked at the drawing of a woman in an Army T-shirt, hair pulled back in a style Swift often wore, and jumped to a conclusion.
