Christine Thrun participated in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life for several years, before it became personal. A little over a year ago, when her mother, Kathy Holmberg of Hinsdale, was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer, Thrun stepped up her involvement. This year, in addition to participating in the Relay as a member of the Think Pink! team, Thrun is also the co- chairman of the planning committee.
