Two obvious conclusions can be drawn from the graph above. The first is that since 2000 private consumption in the Dominican Republic (DR) has been growing. The blue linear trend line clearly slopes upward. The second conclusion is that the growth of private consumption is subject to a fair amount of volatility.

(One caveat about the graph is that for 2005 through 2007, private consumption has been estimated.)
